Joshua J.
Bagnall
Writer / Director
Joshua J. Bagnall is an award-winning British-born Director and Cinematographer, who started his career as a rigger in rock and roll but soon found a fast love for the video department and quickly rose through the ranks. After 15 years working with some of the biggest touring acts in the world, Joshua decided to make the shift from the Live industry into Film.
After completing his first feature, “Rock and Roll Fuck’n’lovely”, at 28, Joshua made the permanent move to New Orleans to build and open the city's first independent, community driven film studio and production company, Fish Pot Studios.
In addition to DP'ing and Directing his own works, Joshua dedicates time to working on local projects like The Claiborne Avenue Historical Project, The New Orleans Four Legacy Tribute (made for television special) 2021, and Stanley Nelson’s documentary "Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities" (2017).
His recent Union Operating work includes Unhinged (2020); Black and Blue (2019) and NCIS: New Orleans. He's also been directed live concert specials for some of New Orleans’ finest musicians to help them raise money during the pandemic.
